Small Universal front mount is for 1 1/8" (1.125" or 28.5 mm) up to 1 1/2" (1.5" or 38 mm) bike down tube diameters.
This unique offset design of the mount allows it to not only fit various down tube sizes and required installation lengths but will also reduce vibration. You can mount it so that it does not greatly increase the length of the front mount from stock or it can be flipped around to increase the length of the front mount. (Please see our downloadable installation instructions for photos) It can also accommodate oval shaped tubes.
The bracket is made from HD steel and is powder coated gray. The kit comes with all the necessary hardware for almost any application.
We sell two general sizes for tube size - large and small. Within those sizes the mounts are sized to fit both types of engine stud spacing - there are narrow and wide stud spaced engines made in China. The correct mount must be selected.
Down tube size means the tube Outer Diameter (O.D.) - the tube sizes are somewhat approximate due to bike tube manufacturing tolerance, paint thickness, etc. Most bikes range from 1.125" to 2.00". Diameter is the distance across or the actual tube size. It means two times the radius. Not the distance around the tube, which is called circumference. Diameter is best measured using a caliper - you can even use a low cost plastic caliper. Also - if you have accurately measured the circumference of your down tube, you can convert to diameter using Pi X D = Circumference. To find Diameter (D) if you know Circumference, divide Circumference by Pi (3.141) or there are on line calculators.
As noted also please verify and select the center to center spacing of your engine studs. The two sizes are ~1.6" (~41 mm) and ~1.9" (~48 mm). These are approximate distances because the engine studs may not be perfectly parallel.
Please select your tube width and engine stud spacing below.

very well made peice that is much easier to adjust than the T bolt that other sites sell and doesnt require drilling a hole in your frame hoping you got it right or your drilling multiple holes on the frame, not shown in this picture is the spacers they send with the kit for even broader range of adjustment

I bought this mount to relieve the stress put on the mounting studs because I was afraid they were going to snap. the engine is mounted much sturdier now and the vibration is reduced considerably. The product is wonderful but some of us aren't so great with math skills so an even more layman explanation of how to determine the correct size would be great.

Good, strong mount bolts on easily, I got the half inch U-bolt but the the holes made it a little too snug, but it worked. If your down tube is about a half inch I'd probably go for the smallest U-bolt on the large motor mount so you can avoid my problem. In all great products, great site, and great shipping.

I've been working this mount hard on both my bikes and it seems really strong. Nice spacers and all hardware included.
No problem with fitting on either bike. Maybe there are some odd bikes/engines out there, but my engines are from different places.

Perfect fit, I replaced the single stud drilled in the frame, much more secure! Maybe it is redesigned, but no problems on mine!
