  1. maybe it will work on my tank frame builds 2 Star Review

    Posted by on 09 24 2018

Try to use it on my thunder shark 66 in my motobecane Phantom 29er it's a pretty tight fit and I thought this exhaust kit would give me the flexibility to make a tight fitting but workable exhaust system that was not the case couldn't find a way to make the manifold clear the downtube so I will probably set it aside maybe try it on one of my tank frame bikes lots more space to work with

  2. Great exhaust 4 Star Review

The exhaust took a little work to prepare it for install.(cleaned up the welds on the flange that goes on the exhaust port, i gasket matched it, had to drill the flange holes larger to accommodate the studs) but it was a fun project and the exhaust alone created soo much extra power out of my bike that i'm not even going to modify anything else to make it faster its great just with the expansion chamber.

  3. Manifold mounting holes too small. 3 Star Review

    Posted by on 04 16 2018

I have a fairly typical chinesium two stroke engine with what I assume are normal gauge mounting posts for the exhaust manifold. The holes machined into the plate are too small! I need to grind these holes wider to get the posts through. Otherwise, pretty solid. Getting the gaskets onto the seams is quite a challenge without some tools to use as levers.

  4. nice pipe. 4 Star Review

The pipe works great. But you need to know what you are doing to make it work. Especially if you plan on tuneing it to a certain rpm. Good material and manufacturing. Thank you sbp for yet anuther good product.

everything went on smoothly and the performance upgrade to my low end torque is AWESOME!
You cannot go wrong with this unless you're just stupid.

  6. If you want this, buy this! 5 Star Review

Does exactly what it says. I'm amazed at what a difference it made once I installed this. SBP would do well to either include instructions or at least a small piece of paper saying "hey dummy there's instructions on the website"

The Dellorto SHA clones will need to be re-jetted, but I think the stock NT/Speed-Carb would need simple needle adjustment (not sure, I don't own them so I can't say much)

SBP Note: Indeed with all our orders with do include an invoice/packing slip that directs folks to our installation download page. Thanks!

  7. Exactly what I was looking for! 5 Star Review

I looked for months for just the right expansion chamber for My beach Cruiser, Finally I found this one and when I got it I was pleasantly surprised to find out that in fact, just like they said, it was totally configurable. I needed low end torque and that's what I got! No ifs ands or buts!

The best bolt on mod for these bicycle 2strokers . This was an amazing upgrade and I could tell immediately that was working . I Gained unbelievable low end power . I dropped from a 48 tooth to a 36 tooth rear sprocket and now my bike dosnt rev too high at speed and pulls me up any hill with ease . I weigh 230 lbs on a 26" mountian bike.

I dont know why everybody gives this such good reviews. The copper fittings and rubber hose connectors are terrible. The hose clamps had to go on pretty tight just to hold everything on. The heat melted them and everything just fell apart. If you buy this I would look at completely replacing the copper fittings, rubber hoses, and just weld it all together.

    SBP response:
After working directly with the customer to evaluate the cause of his issue we determined it to be somewhat of an extreme case. The addition of a high compression head, reed assembly, carburetor and ignition upgrades all contributed to higher than normal exhaust temperatures. In reality only the seals at the exhaust header saw any serious degradation. Again, this is not typical.

And yes we do publish all our reviews. Keep them coming! All we ask if you do have a rare issue is to give us a chance to make it good for you. Thanks~!

I recently purchased this Expansion Chamber not knowing what to expect and OH Man was I pleasantly surprised! After installing it on my mildly modified GT5 the results were absolutely AMAZING! I port matched the exhaust flange to match my cylinder and then Installed it without shortening any of the pipes. I had a Dramatic Increase is bottom end Torque ans surprisingly I gained 4.5 mph on the top end. The chamber kicks in at around mid-range and stays to the maximum RPM! I have a ported cylinder & a 6cc head. I have a SHA 14/14 carburetor which limits my top RPM due to the air flow. If I increase the carburetor bore size to a 18mm or larger then my top speed would definitely increase too! As it is now my Top Speed is 40 miles per hour on the flats and that is fast enough for me on a 26 inch Beach Cruiser with 2.125x26 tires! I could probably increase the top speed by trimming the pipe one inch at a time. As they say "if it's not broken don't fix it" so I'll leave it be until I decide to switch to a larger carburetor!
...I highly recommend this Chamber over all that I've tested so far & they were quite a few. I wound up putting my Old Chambers on Builds that I've sold & kept the Best for myself. My next build will be on a 700c frame and will post the results after I install my next SBP Chamber! AGAPE`

FINALLY! installed the expansion chamber on my bike.

Note, I did NOT get this as a power enhancement, but simply to have a slightly flexible exhaust system. In that respect it works VERY well. In other aspects, it also works as advertised.

Drivability, is VASTLY improved, as is the sound quality. It is quieter, and has more power.

(Just so you know, I used to run 2 cycle motorcycles, in my past, namely Yamaha RD-400s. I do know how an expansion chamber is supposed to work.) Except for never running an RD-400 without an expansion chamber, I can say that this one works quite well!

Would I install one on another bike? Without a doubt! Would I install the "stock" muffler? NEVER AGAIN!

I cant get the pieces between the springs to hold together i have already ripped through a silicone coupler and and now on my last two small ones. Increase in power is pretty noticable on my 20 min ride before the muffler comes loose again. Hard to stay under 20 mph. Would recommend to anyone if I could figure out whats going on.

Great pipe. If you lack tools, this is the pipe for you. As for power, I didn't notice anything, but you really shouldn't with only 3hp to start with. I'm sure it adds something, but it's not really noticeable. The sound it makes is fantasic. I just wish it had a drain screw at the bottom of the belly. The oil builds up in there reducing the baffle effect, instead of dripping out like the stock pipe.

Note: Jim is contacting William to help him with set up. These pipes produce power and Jim will get him going WFO.

I build motorized bicycles up in Regina Saskatchewan and purchased this expansion chamber exhaust from Sick Bike Parts and after installing it and dialing in my air/fuel mixture I can honestly say that it far out does any of the 7 that I have purchased and installed/worked with over the past few years.
I will definitely be purchasing more as well as recommending them to my customers in the future. Thanks SBP.

I purchased this kit (the chrome one) a couple years ago and just recently installed it. It took a LOT of time to figure out how best to route the pipe for fit and function. I have a trek mountain bike and decided to run mine out and off the right side of the engine, with the chamber facing down and following the back half of the frame. I lucked out that I had a mounting hole in the frame for the chamber in the perfect spot on the frame. I also ended up purchasing an additional 90 elbow from Home Depot and pop-riveted it to the extension pipe versus using the silicon and clamp. Looks way better I think. I use the springs to keep the pipe installed tight against the engine. I used a regular exhaust gasket and pitched the thin metal one.

The bike has alot more low-end torque. Takes off quicker and pulls easier up the hills. A slight improvement on the top end as well. Picked up about 1-2 MPH. It sounds alot more "sharp" when it runs now. More like a mini dirt bike and less like a beefy weed whacker. Its louder too, so be careful. Next plan is to head to Rural King and mount a cheap-O lawn mower muffler to the tip.

**wait for it to go on sale!!!**

Worth every penny. I also added the high performance air filter with the install of the pipe and my god the bike ran so much better. My engine never felt like it had enough power especially up hills. These two upgrades were the answer to my low power. Night and day difference, thanks again. Only trouble I had with the kit was the metal gasket included. It leaked at the head so I had to use a standard gasket.

Indeed I did get a power boost as I have read. Too often it seems you read about something and it doesn't deliver. Well, the expansion chamber did deliver. Added another 45L along with the existing 45 together with straight cu pipe and it tucked in very nicely high on my left side. Thought it might be a burning hazard, but, with my particular bike not a problem at all. Of course not enough si pipe so I had to split one piece in half. I guess I need to buy a spare piece. The stuff isn't cheap. I suppose by putting the nominal amount in the kit for most builds it does keep cost down.
