Note that this kit comes with typical mountain bike style crank arms and requires 9/16" pedals. If you have a one piece crank you will most likely need to purchase new pedals.

I ordered this kit for my second build, it arrived via Priority Mail within a couple days. Jim was most helpful in answering questions and in a quick manner. Installation isn't too difficult for someone with a decent amount of mechanical aptitude. I fired the bike up for the first time last night and again this afternoon... all hardware seems to be holding up very well. Thanks to SBP and their exceptional customer service, I'll be a returning customer as I head into my 4th build!

The kit arrived much faster than expected, in good order. That's the good part, so far.
Well, the folks here warned us. The manual clearly states that "Due to the variations in the castings and hole locations of the different engines some modification to the mount may be necessary. Verify fit of the upper mounting hole." I had to dig out my set of files and go to work.
The rear mount, aluminum plate, and spacer bar all needed the engine mount holes to be filed. Likewise the the upper mounting hole in the rear mount needed to be filed. I had to remove about 2mm from each of these to get a decent fit. I strongly recommend that you use the bottom engine mounting studs in the rear of the engine while filing to fit. You can then just drop the parts onto the engine to 'test fit' your work. Start with the spacer bar, then the aluminium plate, and finally the rear mount. Once you are happy with the fit, attach the the aluminium plate to the rear mount, and make any adjustments required. Now you can get to work on that upper mounting hole (be sure to keep it slotted.) A lot of time can be saved if you have access to a mill.
I read somewhere that this kit was not for the faint of heart. Mating the kit to my Skyhawk 66cc fell into this catagory. Now that the tough work is done, it should be a straight forward install onto my bike. I'm looking forward to that first ride.

I've been following this jackshaft kit for a while, finally pulled the trigger on the deluxe kit....arrived in 2 days! Great product, great seller, can't wait to slap it on and ride!

bought this kit for my trek mountain bike with 49cc slant head and its worth every penny, im 200+ pounds and live in West Virginia mountains and i travel everywhere i want to go with ease. SBP included everything and i received my kit in just a few days. I will def buy from SBP from now on for all my motorbike accessories, im actually placing an order this week for some different sprockets so i can ply with the gear ratios. thanks SBP for the great service!!

This product is awesome it was very easy to install, customer service was great. I have never been happier with my gas bike. Its the best thing I have ever bought for my bike and it worked perfect the first time which was a fifty mile ride it never got hot YOU MUST BUY THIS !

What can I say that hasnt already been said. Like always with SBP the shipping is very fast. The shift kit is made of good quality parts and is very well designed. I would recommend this kit and SBP to any motored bike enthusiast.

Have half installed the kit but need a half link for the 415 chain that I will get locally.

I purchased one of these a few months ago. Jim at SPB has been more than helpful with any issues. They really stand behind their quality products. When I received the box containing the kit, I was really surprised that they send EVERYTHING you need to get this kit on your build. Tools including a chain breaker and crank puller, extra sprockets, etc. The kit is expensive, but you get a lot for your money. Follow their directions carefully, there is a reason that they strongly recommend that you have experience repairing bicycles and building motorized bicycles. The shift kit was the most expensive component of my build, including the bicycle itself, but once you get it working, I'm sure you'll agree it's totally worth it. Heavy Duty, high quality parts, smooth machined operation. The directions are logical and clear. Follow them exactly. If something seems superfluous, I speak from experience, it isn't. Everything has a purpose. Trust me. If you live in an area prone to rust, invest in some rust protection (NOT WD--40) and maintain it. Keep an eye on the HD Freewheel, and check your bike before every ride. I'd say the hardest part of installation is the chain tensioning from the drive sprocket to the bottom bracket, but stick with it. Any problems, I've always had fast courteous service from SPB. I highly recommend the Deluxe HD Shift Kit II and Sick Bike Parts. I've made several smaller purchases from them and I'm always satisfied. If there's something I need, I always check here first! Now I want an expansion chamber!

I would recomend this shift kit to anyone building a mb just on one simple fact that rag joint can destroy your left side spokes for the safety factor alone GREAT JOB SICK BIKE PARTS !
