when all else fails....!

I am a committed cyclist, over 40 years, 100,000miles/160,000kms experience, both commuting & touring. And am currently pedaling a Doublevision, which has survived the longest (18+ years) of any of my previous bicycles (all uprights), including my next longest lasting one, a prototype Stumpjumper (Which was the first ATB in Medellin, if not Colombia, 1986-7).
Anyway, the BMX freewheel in the captain’s crank began slipping. Removing these free wheels is a huge challenge if a strong locking vise is not available to use, so I almost always go to Crazy Cat-Airport where the master mechanics there can easily make repairs as required. [There is always a great shop behind anybody who pedals!] They diagnoses the problem fairly quickly, that the freewheel was not worn out, but the (soft) threads on the hanger had worked smooth. With this knowledge, they were able to find a rare replacement set of hangers at Sick. The order went i, and within a week, the new hangers had arrived, installed at Crazy Cat-Airport, and I was back out in my most comfortable web seat. Sick not only gets 5 stars, this fine company also gets my hearty “Wheel of Approval!”
